...WINTER STORM WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 4 AM MDT
THURSDAY...
* WHAT...Snow. Additional accumulations of 6 to 12 inches. Winds
gusting as high as 90 mph.
* WHERE...The Sangre De Cristo mountains above 11000 feet.
* WHEN...Until 4 AM MDT Thursday.
* IMPACTS...Travel could be very difficult to impossible.
Widespread blowing snow could significantly reduce visibility.
Strong winds could cause tree damage. The cold wind chills as
low as 15 below zero could result in hypothermia if precautions
are not taken.

Information:
If you must travel, keep an extra flashlight, food, and water in
your vehicle in case of an emergency.

THE FOLLOWING MESSAGE IS TRANSMITTED AT THE REQUEST OF THE
COLORADO AVALANCHE INFORMATION CENTER.
...AVALANCHE WARNING IN EFFECT 5 PM TUESDAY UNTIL 5 PM THURSDAY...
*WHAT...Heavy snow and strong winds will result in very dangerous
avalanche conditions and a HIGH (Level 4 of 5) avalanche danger. The
avalanche danger is EXTREME (Level 5 of 5) in the southern San Juan
Mountains
*WHERE...San Juan Mountains and Sangre de Cristo Range
*WHEN...Expect very dangerous avalanche conditions to develop on
Tuesday evening and last through Thursday
*IMPACTS...Large, dangerous, and destructive avalanches will be
very easy to trigger in many places. Avalanches will run naturally.
Avalanches will run long distances into valley bottoms.
*PRECAUTION/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...Travel in backcountry avalanche
terrain is not recommended during the Warning period. Avoid travel
on and under slopes steeper than about 30 degrees. You can find

* WHAT...Southwest winds 40 to 50 mph with gusts up to 90 mph
expected.
* WHERE...Sangre De Cristo mountains, the Wet Mountains, the Wet
mountain valley and parts of Fremont county.
* WHEN...From 9 AM to 8 PM MDT Today.
* IMPACTS...Damaging winds may blow down trees and power lines.
Local power outages will be possible. Travel will be difficult,
especially for high profile vehicles.

Information:
People should avoid being outside in forested areas and around
trees and branches. If possible, remain in the lower levels of
your home during the windstorm, and avoid windows. Use caution if
you must drive.
